The gender-bending/blending movement of the play sticks out to me as a
dark comedic way of poking at gender and sexual norms of the time,
especially in how beautiful a boy Viola becomes with her gender
entirely flipped (Viola). RuPaul's Drag race is my inspiration for
this powerful beautiful switch of roles which must take place in
almost every character. Balancing and investigating both the sacred
feminine and masculine in ourselves and our characters will lead to
deeper connection.
